Pre 1900 CPR painted some of its box car sides a buff or ochre shade with black lettering.. This car was restored in a typical pre-190-0 paint scheme in Heritage Park, Calgary.

Folding stake pockets & Gondola clips

The comperisons of inside folding stake pockets with Wine tie-down straps show that they are not very similar in appearance. They both are close to the same size, but are very much different.

I think the decals will be at least as convincing as decal rivets.
Yes, it can be done with wire. And it probably results in an even better model. But attaching

From research done years ago I seem to remember these being supplied by the Wine company. 1/2" round bar bent into a loop and the distal ends were bent out to about a 30 degree angle which separated

I believe that you are referring to the towing staple or eye. These are easy to make out of brass wire.

Is it the rings used to move a gondola with a rope or chain? Do they go on top or the bottom of a gondola's side?
