Well, obviously I was trying to make numbers out of ink blots, and looking at the wrong blots as well. Now that I’m looking at the right “ink blots,” I concur with those who see “76918.”

Looks like 76918 to me.
Jan 1943 ORER lists it as 40'6" IL, 8'9" IW, 9'4" IH 6" x 8" 8" doors, 3,311 CU FT, CAPY 100000 LBS, with 497 cars in the 76500-76999 series.

The only accurate model of any of the M55 cars is the Sunshine resin versions and even these did not get the Duryea underframes correct.
