Philadelphia 1940’s video.
Interesting video from the 40’s. Wine tank car at 4:42 point. Nice vintage freight cars. (State of the art at the time)

Re: SP Freight Car Color.
Star brand from PBL. They have SP red in full strength and faded reds. Beautiful sheen for decaling. Airbrushes like a dream with minimal thinning for 16 pound air pressure.

Attached is a photo of boxcars from five different roads, NH, B&O, ACL, SP and ATSF, lined up on what looks like a team track in Dallas, TX. I don't know the exact year or photographer but it offers

Re: Fort Dodge, Des Moines & Southern Ventilated Refrigerator 942
Interesting, but I do have one question. Eric‘s presentation was on ventilated box cars. This looks like a normal refrigerator car. Why was it classified as a ventilated box car?

Re: Photo: Unloading Grain
I suppose they could use the same type “car tipper” to unload as they do for grain. That, however, would only apply for large-scale users. The far more common “little guys” would have to do it

Lester,
due to lack of knowledge of the prototype I can't comment in regard of accuracy, but it's definitely a beautiful model! Very well done!

I use Trucolor SP freight car red. I think your mix seems quite close. Tony and Tim are probably the best to get the best information off.

Hello,
John Deere's combine plant was in East Moline, Ill and started out either on Milw or CBQ. Both roads went to Omaha to the UP.

Re: Wisconsin Fish Commission Car “Badger”
Group,
I can say I have fished parts of WV, especially the Elk River in Slaty Fork. It combines two great hobbies as you get to walk the right of way of the old WM where many freight cars once roamed
