Re: Older Iron Range freight cars
I’d like to make a quite general comment here … Iron ore is NOT all one color.
Nowadays, with taconite making up most all the shipments, the color is rather uniform. The individual taconite

Re: Pere Marquette DD 40' steel box
Johannes has it right- The Oriental Limited and Funaro & Camerlengo models are not PM cars- they have radial roofs, where the PM cars did not.
For the casual observer, this is somewhat complicated by

Jim,
The cars and layout are Bob Hanmer’s work, not mine. I can’t comment on the rail color.

Re: Photo: Copper Range Railroad Boxcar 150 (Undated)
Copper Range had 3 cars painted for Scheuermann and 1 for Bosch. Dennis Leopold published a 122 page Copper Range roster book with more information last year if you are interested in the line.

Re: Seeking Information On HO Truck Components.
Hello Bill and all,
rhe answer depends on the problem:
1. the truck bolster is too wide for the branke hanger part: try Kadee #441 or #442
2. the truck bolster is too high for the brake hanger part:

B/A tank cars photo
Interesting postcard - would love to find the original image and blow it up. Shows several Canadian tank cars, including BA, at Moose Jaw Saskatchewan.

Re: Photo: Pacific Great Eastern Reefer 819 (Circa 1950s)
Was this car original to PGE, or was it secondhand? If so does anyone know where it came from?

Re: Older Iron Range freight cars
Eric,
Very nice build! Shouldn't the rails be essentially the same color as
the ore cars? I've read that all the houses along the right-of-way had
rust-colored whites - didn't matter what color is

Re: Ends for Delaware & Hudson 36' foot boxcars.
George:
Attached is the Hutchins end used on some the rebuilt D&H 36' cars. Not at all the same as the one used on the 40 ft cars.
Hope this helps.

Re: Photo of end of D&H 36' boxcar. What kind of end is it?
I think that’s an inverse Hutchins end. It’s just difficult to see the indentations. It’s most visible at the end tack board as you can see the tack board spans a gap.

Re: Ends for Delaware & Hudson 36' foot boxcars.
Thanks Scott, but this doesn't appear to be the end in the Sunshine kit I'm using as a basis for my model. To help I put a new post with a photo of the Sunshine D&H end.

Photo of end of D&H 36' boxcar. What kind of end is it?
This is a followup to my earlier question on this car. I'm thinking of building it in S scale. The end doesn't match anything I'm aware of, chiefly the riveted metal appears thinner than on other

Re: Pere Marquette DD 40' steel box
Nice! Is this similar to the old Yankee Clipper resin kit (or was it Funaro & Camerlengo?) for the C&O?
Also, I think Oriental imported a brass model or two for the C&O cars?
