Great Northern boxcar background?
To our Great Northern experts here I was wondering if you have any background or history on this car featured in the slide? It is an interesting looking car. It appears to have the same roof as N&W

I don’t think those are horizontal sheets, just horizontal lines. Note the vertical rows of rivets, and the lack of an edge horizontally that would be there if they were horizontal sheets.

The “board” looks to be welded at the bottom and isn’t wood (or maybe it was sufficient to rivet it at the top edge only).
Potato loading?

Judging by the possible hinges at the A end for the full end door this is a GN42900-42999 series car.

Car is C&O 13133, a gondola they picked up secondhand from River Coal Co. in 1909. The peaked ends are original, and quite uncommon for a car built in 1905.
