NP 50’ reefer
Could someone provide some background to this NP reefer. When built, series, etc. it’s part of a photo I’m using in a book. Image at MP East Yard in Kansas City 1943

This a typical all-steel version of the Ralston GS gondola. The wood-side version was more common, but there were also a good number of these built.

Right you are, Tim. They could have varied sides. I was thinking of that too, SP Trainline. I wonder if Tony has any info in one of his excellent freight car publications?

I know, but I was only half joking. After all, we don't know what the OTHER SIDE of that car
looked like. Not all rebuilt cars were symmetrical. ;-)

For this particular one, yes major. Better off scratch building this puppy.
The one I meant has the 1 1/2 doors still in place and only 2 flap style pull out side doors, in the previous post.

Ha, well, trust, but verify. I know for a fact that Kadee has made mistakes. I don't hold it against
them. We all learn as we go along, and Kadee almost never

American Limited Tank Car Weathering
I just got some of the beautiful American Limited tank cars in the original ATSF paint scheme. Can anyone point me to (or provide) images of how these cars looked after a few years of service.

Oh, yeah. These tarped trailers were commonly carried as piggyback loads on flat cars in the day, so there is a legitimate tie-in to this group's subject.😉

Open top semitrailers were extremely common in the post WWII era. CMW offers one with many different logos in HO scale. I think maybe overhead cranes were more common then forklifts back then???
