Re: Color recommendation for post 1945-1950 painted GN SS single door boxcar
Charlie,
What intrigues me is the old 1930s-40s herald on that GN USRA (or USRA copy) boxcar ... in 1956!

Re: Color recommendation for post 1945-1950 painted GN SS single door boxcar / more PGE info
Charlie,
I heartily agree. In fact, the whole PGE was a tough piece of railroading. There's a great soft cover book about the PGE and how it was built, plus the trials and tribulations of keeping it

Great color; what a lousy place to clean up a derailment.

Re: D&H P-S Box Car Decals
Not about the decals, but it looks like they learned from Pennsy about the layout of weight and dimensional data. Just got done with three PRR cars, X26C, X29B and X29D, used Microscale decals. Not

Re: D&H P-S Box Car Decals
Fenton,
I'm just doing one car, so I think I can get by with the two sets I bought. I'm sure I can find hopper to do with some of the rest.

Thanks, Fenton
I ordered a set. The herald isn't correct, But I also ordered one of their hopper sets which looks to have the right one.

Let me know when you need to finish your model of this facility.
I have several friends down the road from our house that have horses…..

Before the era of this group but I think interesting to this discussion, there was a spur off the 1864 “Chicago Branch” (aka the CB&Q “Racetrack”) just west of the Chicago city limit

It isn’t model paint information, but FYI, there is a nice video of a train wreck showing a GN car in April 1954 at this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdtnVk2M3YU

Re: resin model kits - canopy glue
I am sure the notation on the glue bottle refers to the glue in that liquid form. It certainly does not refer to the glue when polymerized and set as an adhesive. I have had some challenging material
