Re: [Non-DoD Source] Re: [RealSTMFC] PRR G25 USRA Gon
Michael and Group;
One of the coolest gons of all time was the G25 “Screw Car(s)”.
PRR didn’t much like their USRA cars, and they had wooden floors, and interior folding stake pockets,

Re: CB&Q Hoppers from Athearn Two-Bay Ribbed Hopper
I’d certainly like a pair. Will they be made with cast on grabs or will the modeler have to install wire grabs. I’m for the latter.

Re: PRR G25 USRA Gon
Eric Hansmann just sent me a scan of the Westerfield USRA gon instructions, so I am good to go.
Thanks to Eric, Elden Gatwood, and others who offered advice, photos, or reference material.
Cheers!

Re: CB&Q Hoppers from Athearn Two-Bay Ribbed Hopper
Buy some Burlington hoppers? Yes, definitely...but NOT after I spend 40 hours rebuilding a couple of old BB dogs.
I haven't studied the rosters yet but Burlington had around 4,000 of these cars.

Michael;
These ought to give you enough on the B end details to execute the resin parts build.
G25 Carmers had that big step-up on either side of the pivot bolt.
Note the PRR as-built had

COSX tank car mystery
Hey gang,
I'm revisiting my research on a particular block of D-X (C.O.S.X) tank cars. The cars appear in the attached W. Middleton photo that was poorly reproduced in the CERA "Iowa Trolleys" book.

Group;
Once I figured out what the end details should look like, the Westerfield resin details went on OK, including the cut levers. You could try that source.
Keep in mind the pivoting

Considering all other CB&Q cars built during this period were Mineral Red (some say Boxcar Red), I've always assumed that is their original paint and any repaints until 1958. Chinese Red

Re: CB&Q Hoppers from Athearn Two-Bay Ribbed Hopper
The Q hoppers had an inside length (IL) of 34'-3". Stantard hoppers have an IL of 33'-0". Would folks purchase a resin kit of this hopper to get a correct model? I have a general arrangement drawing.

One unanswered question for me is that the series CB&Q 190000-190999 twin hoppers (ACF Lot 232) appears to have been built in
