Ribs for stiffening within the roof panels would be an OK term. Then there are seam caps over the roof panel seams. I think car lines are generally below the roof proper, supporting it.

There were both internal and external carlines. The external ones are the visible "ribs" on cars that had them. As Eric's message implied, those with internal carlines had seam-caps that comprised

I thought that carlines were the internal structure for roof and sides. But I have no source for that.

Yes, that says the Texas Chief slogan was added in 1948. But I have not seen any photograph or mention of any specific car with this slogan prior to 1954.

I bought about 5 of those 13 panel radials. Andrew was great to provide them. No one has made a 15 panel as a detail part. Hopefully, Andy will corner the market on them.
