Chuck,
Not all "bobbers" were the same. The critical component was the underframe. While many were built with wood underframes, the type lasted long enough to have some built with steel underframes

Yipes! Weren't all the "bobber" cabooses wooden? Seems like that 2-10-2 would've made toothpicks out of it!

Bill,
The diagram for the B-50-27 class is available at:

This is a trunnion type coupler carrier. It functions much as do swing hangers on passenger truck assemblies. The coupler shank rests on the support bar which is suspended on each end by swing hanger

Not quite that simple, Tony.
The June 1946 double medallion scheme with color UP medallion, Black hardware and units on the dimensional and CAPY data had the SP medallion next to the door.

Re: Candidates for Accurail cars
Marty,
Those cars are too tall, being 10'-0" IH. The cars you are thinking of were CN 580000 - 580999, which were built in 1923 as 9'-0" door and a half automobile cars. Between 1933 - 1940 they were

Re: PFE R-40-4 series?
One more question…on the A end of the car was the UP shield closest to the ladder or was the SP logo? Being more familiar with ART the MP and a Wabash were swapped depending A or B end.
thanks

You are most welcome, Larry. Don't know why trainlife can't get this fixed. The critical parts are the three letter code for the magazine and then the year and month. mrr is model railroading, ptm
