Re: Accurail MKT 36’ boxcar
Not sure which series the MKT car is, but Ray’s notes at Eric’s site should include length of service:

I’d read this article on building and weathering a white reefer and ordered a bottle of Vallejo Brown wash to see how I could weather my own light colored cars. While Jim doesn’t go into detail I

$3.50 Overland etched running boards for 1958 cu ft covered hoppers
Hello-
I have 5 sets of Overland models #2152 "Rectangular Hole Roofwalk for E&B Valley 70-ton covered Hopper" These are for 1958 cu ft covered hoppers and probably for 2-bay PS2 covered hoppers.

Re: Accurail MKT 36’ boxcar
Tony thanks, the yellow certainly allows for a canvas to add weathering.
Can someone tell me how long these cars lasted; the reweigh date is 1938 and I’d like to move it up to the late 1940’s

Very good-looking car, Charlie, with your usual excellent touch with the locations and degree of dirt. I too have always liked the Katy yellow.

Accurail MKT 36’ boxcar
I always liked the Sloan yellow color the Katy painted their cabooses and boxcars. The Accurail lettering is pretty accurate so all I did was replace the ladders with those I made and wire hand

Re: Baltimore & Ohio Box Cars May 1938
Yes, thank you. I've never noticed the taper at the top of those doors on the M-53 before. If i recall, my f&c wagon top's doors do not have that, I may need to consider surgery.
