Indeed in 1946 and 1947 brand new MCHX tank cars were built for the Merrimac Division.

The frames in the two photos are different. The 1934 photo shows a Type 11 UF, consistent with the 1912

For the CPR car, yes, the Tichy car with 7/8 ends is a reasonably good model (with the roof modification mentioned earlier). Intermountain released the Tichy kit as ready to run for CPR a few years

I'll throw my thought out there on the boxcar, too. Image clarity is rather distorted, so can't say it is 100% a tilted herald. It does has a certain Bangor and Aroostook feel to it.
