Re: maker of small drill bits (#78, #80) for hand drilling resin kits
I would go with High Speed Steel.
Most commercial users of drills want a drill that will last in production machines.
That is what carbide and Cobalt drills are for.

I have enjoyed this discussion, but one question remains unanswered for me. I too have had trouble finding reliable affordable bits for hand-drilling plastic and resin and I remain unsure if I should

Re: Accurail single sheathed box cars (was CNJ 12000 series)
I've taken to using (new) exacto blade, scoring the cut, and then repeating the cut 7-8 times until I am all the way through the plastic. Seems to work fine. Mostly because I am not trusting myself

GATC 1948 design numbers
How many GATC 1948-design ICC-103 tank cars were built? I have two of the Tangent model but don't know if more would be justifiable.

I printed it out, Thank you Sam. I have done the CNJ 1923 ARA (X29) car and wanted to add another CNJ car so I may do the Tichy version from the article you posted. Clark is always an inspiration

To go along with the information that Billy Dale provided regarding the CNJ's 18XXX series single sheathed box cars, I uploaded the magazine article that Vic Roseman wrote and was in the February 2003

Re: Photo: Re-Icing Eight Hatch Reefers
The Athearn model is strictly a Santa Fe (SFRD) prototype.
FOBX may be the best reporting mark for a foobie yet ! :-)
Ten hatches on this one.

I think two years ago, Athearn came out with a 50' ice bunker reefer. One of the road names was Fruit Growers Express overhead reefers (FOBX). Unfortunately, the model was done with only four

Clark - i’ve never removed an Accurail door. What dd you find as you went at it? Tools and techniques? Was thinking the safest way (if you don’t mind ruining the door) would be to drill some

Funaro & Camerlengo make a series of Canadian National 8-hatch reefers (nos 5130 ff.)
True-Line made a series of 8-hatch reefers in CN, CP, BCR & PGE paint schemes.

Today's work: Finished the underframe and added the ladder rungs. Last time I do that! I'm much better at demolition than finish work. First time I've removed the door from an Accurail body! I think I
