Pere Marquette never had any gons numbered this high - this is probably a
typo or a mis-entered car number. However, if we drop the first "8," the

There were four inside heights, for which I have adopted the
following terminology:

Farmers work lime into the soil in the fall (to raise the PH) if they use too
much the spring planted plants won't

I wish I knew more about C&NW PS-1 box cars. Someone recently told me that
C&NW had a number of riveted PS-1 cars. If you plan for some C&NW cars, it
might be best to check the series and go

Thanks for the assist on the two NYC cars - I was afraid that they were both
taller variations. And that's why going through the NYC boxcar fleet isn't

Schuyler, Thanks for the info and jpegs. My modeling focus is basically the
1955-56 era, so was hoping I could use the dry transfers I had on hand. I felt
the circle logo looked better for that era

I think it is more apt to say the lime will "burn" the roots of plants rather
than the soil itself. Talk to a gardener about this. Lime is produced by
