Re: Rapido 52'6" gondolas
How many were built from 1943 until 1951? I do need some Canadian cars as I want to model the Niagara Frontier and will probably want either the Rapido gon or the Westerfield gon.

Rapido 52'6" gondolas
Those were a Canadian prototype, so not an exact match for anything south of the border.

These 1929 built NP cars were part of the building rush to have cars available that could be positioned empty just outside of urban Detroit (as it existed at the time) so that these would be readily

Looking For Westerfield Flat Kit Version USRA Double Sheath Boxcar Kits
Hello - -
The recent discussion about resin kit stashes prompts me to enquire,
I am wondering where I might obtain an unbuilt “Flat Kit” version of Westerfield’s (present number) 3800

Re: Alaska Railroad Hart Convertible Ballast Gondola ARR 1443
Thanks Ken, the Silver Streak car is not as detailed as I would like. The SP car that Tony talked about is a very nice car but not quite like the CNW cars that had higher sides and the end side panels

Dennis, Tim,
I agree that the flat paint on the EP&SW car photo definitely hides the contrast. And frankly there are aspects of the EP&SW photo that make me think that the car sides might have

Re: Prototype for Branchline 37-Foot Reefer?
I’m thinking the decaled one is Sunshine and the other is MDC. Even being a foot shorter it makes into a descent model.

Re: Amarillo Railroad Museum FW&D Covered Hopper
Intermountain painted them black but used the wrong roofs, which is more difficult to fix.
Amarillo cared enough to supply them with the correct roofs. Easier to paint them black should one desire

Re: Northern Pacific Automobile Box Car NP 8029
I would simply attribute what I see in the NP builder photo to unevenly planed boards i.e.
the boards are not exactly perfectly planed to the same thicknesses. With gloss paint,

Rapido 52'6" gondolas
I have three undec cars in brown. It looks like they would make NYC cars with a change from grab irons to ladders. What other cars are these close to?
Nice models, the undecs come with two kinds
