Glen,
That's a little too absolutist. In fact, the practice of treating with lime was not as widespread in the US as it was in Canada, where it was required, as has been noted earlier in this thread,

The bottom of stock card is treated by lime when cleaning so the colour disappears very quickly and becomes a chalky white colour

Re: Need Bob's Photo contact info
Hey Jim,
Bob is here at the St. Louis RPM meet and I can check with him tomorrow. I certainly want to see what he has for Murphy and other stations along the branch.
Thanks!

Re: Photo: Erie Depressed Center Flat Car 99032
Hi,
I cannot recall the type of trucks that are on this car. Can anyone provide that information and, OBTW does anyone make this truck in HO? (I'm wondering if it was made by Red Ball or Cape Line

Re: AAR 40' Boxcar ID
Ed has produced MANY box car rosters so the one that you want is Ed's compilation
of AAR Postwar R+3-4 IDN (1948-1954) tabloid format, or Excel spreadsheet format.

AAR 40' Boxcar ID
Hi All,
I recently pickup some HO scale C&BT 1944 AAR 40' Boxcar kits at an estate sale and I am at a loss for identifying which railroad(s) owned them.
They are one with a 7' door and 10 panel

Re: Photo: Receiving International Harvester Crawlers At The Great Northern Paper Company
1939 timetable. I don’t have a more recent one without doing some digging. The picture must be 1951 given the combination of a red-white-blue boxcar and steam.

Re: Northeastern Scale Lumber Siding
Ray,
Not sure if this is what you are looking for, but what I have is:
116SCR132P
It is 1/16" scribed,1/32" thick, 11" long and 3" wide. The scribing runs the long way.
