That was sort of my point. We make compromises in scale dimensions in other freight car details; mainly because the correct components aren't available, or can't be economically made, to scale.

Oh those pesky decimal places!! 😉 A handy rule of thumb is that one real inch is approximately 0.01” in HO (it is actually 0.01148”).
