Richard,
As the convention is getting close, as is the publication of the book, I
have not seen any order forms from the Society yet. Any idea when they will
be mailing those?

Re: Outlander freight cars in the most unusual places
I STILL say that about any and all east coast (or, for that matter,
midwestern) hopper cars, Ned, and you can run, but you can't hide - the
footprints in the coal dust will give you away every time.

Re: Scale effect on Paint (was: Paint, not as simple as it looks)
A rather well known case was that of an importer who offered ³O² scale N&W
passenger cars (I know, off-topic, but germaine) painted with the factory
spec paint. Everyone hated it because it didn¹t

Well now, Richard is finally coming around. He used to say that about any
east coast hopper. Now he is limiting his prejudice to N&W hoppers.

color uniformity from paint manufacturers
What makes anyone think that freight car paint didn't vary in color

I dunno... I kinda like the old "dartnot" since it conveyed something
about the design. How about "Garksnot" or "Urksnot" for this new end?
