Dean Payne asked:
"When did the Railway Express (X29) scheme date from? Didn't they have
dreadnaught ends as well? That would be a nice combo..."
Dean, see my article in the April 2004 issue of TKM

Re: Rutland Ps-1 boxcars
Jeff is correct.
The two cars painted all green were 293 and 248, both damaged cars. They
were repaired and repainted in the Rutland shops after the final strike. At
least two color photographs

As of today Thursday, there were a few X29 undecorated kits # RC-7002
still in stock at RC. Email them tomorrow morning and you might get a

Jeff I'm a little confused. You said that some of the cars were repainted green during the strike. Then you noted that the cars were only 7 years old and it was highly unlikely that they got repainted

Red Caboose PRR X29 kits - are they still available?
I have been looking for the Red Caboose PRR X29 in the as-built scheme,
in kit form. It is no longer available at RC, oddly enough! (They
also put a DASH in the X-29! Shame on them!)

I know I promised to shut up before, but...
That 1961 ORER page that I mentioned earlier listed the PS-1s as
having a 10' 3" inside height. Is an extra two inches of floor board
thickness

the green car was opened up, and I got a good look at the inside.
