makes a kit, but at $30.00 a pop I can't get many. At one point, TYCO
made some suitable gons. Where can I find some? I rarely

MT gons at the head of trains
Lehigh Valley used to run solid blocks of empty gons at the head of
trains.
There's a photo of one of these trains in the Summer '04 issue

Re: Options for P2K type 21 in early 1950s
UOCX lettering was, in fact, aluminum on black. Also true of a number of other tank car operators, though it's difficult (often impossible) to tell the difference in a B/W photo.

Bill,
Try keystone crossings for a link to Bill Lanes photo collection of builder's photos, this may have what you seek.

Hi All,
I will be spending the next month or so in Columbia, South Carolina with some side trips to Athens (GA) and Charleston (SC) and was wondering if anyone could suggest possible layouts to see.
