Re: Athearn releases/PS2
Nope. All three (Kadee, Athearn, Walthers) are 2893 cuft cars.
No one is doing the 3215 or 3500 designs.
Tim O.
So is it confirmed that Kadee is doing these as well? Todd Horton

Re: False Statement in Mainline Modeler??
Very simply. These weren't considered private reporting marks, just a different reporting mark for the Santa Fe. Cars with these marks appeared in their section of the ORER with all of their ATSF

do you explain SFRB/SFRC reporting marks that appeared in the 50's?

Re: New Athearn freight cars
Garth, I expect the gondolas to have separate wire grabs, but the
covered hoppers to only have wire grabs on the end sills, while the
ladders and slope sheet grabs will be cast into the body. But

Re: Athearn News (65' mill gon)
No, they're doing the Santa Fe version as a Ga-47 or Ga-48 class car with AAR trucks rather than the Ga-55 class, which had National B-1s.

Shawn, you mis-read the announcement. The road names you list are those for the PS-2 covered hoppers. Road names for the first run of the 65'6" mill gons are Santa Fe, Burlington, Southern, Nickel

Re: New Athearn freight cars
Friends,
It's a bit hard to tell from Athearn's images. Do these two new cars have separate grab irons and other detail parts, or the usual trainset blobs of plastic?
Kind regards,
Garth G.

This will be a great opportunity for some entrepreneurial decal
maker, as I note two railroads at least, L&N & NC&StL, are not listed
in Athearn's plans.
