There were many styles of Andrews trucks in use in the 1915-1919 era and, as always, the only way to be sure you're right is to work from photos of the particular prototype cars you're modeling.

These were not the same as the standard Emergency design. These were unique to the LV. The Athearn and P2K kits will not work here except as stand-ins.

after grit blasting i usually just dip the trucks in a combination
of india ink + alcohol wash, and sometimes a commercial "rust"
mix and i use a hot air drier to evaporate the alcohol quickly.
