Sunshine CofGa Gon kit
Hey Group, does anyone know of a hobby shop that would have "in-stock"
the Sunshine kits? I'm needing a couple of their Central of Georgia 40'
gons. I've been told that it would take at least 6 months

Re: Accurail's Forthcoming 40' AAR Gondola
Shawn,
Even if Sunshine has done a superior AAR gondola, Accurail is not aiming at the same market. IMHO, they make a high quality product for the niche they have chosen to serve, even if it isn't

Re: Door handles
I've been replacing those with wire for about 40 years. I was very
disappointed to see that even Kadee molds them in place. Filing the
outer surface of the wire flat represents the prototype

Door handles
I was looking at a Sunshine boxcar door tonight and wondering --
Why is everyone, or almost everyone, satisfied with the molded handle on box
car doors? I've never noticed one trimmed off and replaced

Ahem, the price disparity may not be as great as that. The Accurail
gondolas R-T-R probably will retail for about $10 less than one of
the SUNSHINE resin 40' gondola kits. I agree you save 5

Shawn,
Given the <G>, I'm sure that you didn't mean to offend, but you're

An besides, what would you practice weathering on, not a Sunshine kit.
I much prefer to develop techniques on less expensive models.
