Athearn 50' single sheathed box cars
Once more into the breach: Athearn has re-released the Roundhouse
single sheathed box cars. I recall these are ok for MP, T&P and WP, but
my question is -- are these correct for T&P and WP with steel

Re: Dan Hall doors
Pat, I'm just speculating but it sounds like Dan is a one-man show and he
doesn't want little onesie-twosie orders from small shops. Des Plaines Hobbies
buys a bunch of each door, and stocks them all

Re: 8.000/10.000 gallon tank car trucks
I concur with Richard.
Most of the old Red Ball/Cape Line trucks are just awful in terms of

OK - I'd really like to see Dan succeed and have my local hobby shop carry his products.
How do they obtain his currently available Superior doors?? The same info will
obviously apply to other willing

Re: 8.000/10.000 gallon tank car trucks [Proto 2000].
The spring arrangement is certainly Dalman, but otherwise the side
frame configuration of these ex-Red Ball trucks is, well, weird. I
don't doubt that there was a prototype for them somewhere, as

There are also cast-metal Dalmans available from *Bethlehem* Car
Works, in their "Kitbits" line. I *think* these are the old Red Ball
trucks formerly available from Cape Line. BCW assemble them

Arnold, the models have the placard boards in the locations called for
by the builder's original specifcations. Owners often had their own
