SFRD 50 foot reefer
With the roof that will come with this model, it seems to me that it
will be easy to use it and sheet styrene to build a model of the SFRD's
double sheathed cars that were also used to transport

Nowhere on his site does it say what scale(s) these are in. Am I
correct that these are in the default scale (HO)?

The pother possibility is that the story has been turned around
backwards. As I recall, the C&NW had some riveted cars with Pullman's

Blair,
I went back and checked all my 40' rosters of AAR-style box cars and can find no welded-side box cars for CNW. Is your friend positive these existed, and if so, did they exist in the pre-1960

BTW, you can zoom in on the model image a lot easier with the pdf link
version that Andy supplied. It looks pretty sweet.

Hi Garth,
Athearn hasn't said anything about maps vs. "Ship and Travel" slogans, but
the train slogans the announcement shows are all earlier types that are
consistent with maps on the opposite side.
