A very easy industry to model is a newspaper printing plant - many rectangular buildings will look right. You can use a half dozen of those Canadian cars to bring in one or two cars every

The dry

Russ, I wasn't talking about the grain leg (elevator) its self, but a
hopper that the leg dumped into. When this hopper was filled to a
certain weight it would dump into the loading

Chris, have them made, you would be surpised at how many sets you could
sell. Rail Graphic requires 25 set order. Scale Rail Graphics

Re: Practical use for model box cars
Clark,
Only weights that were acceptable for trade were scale weights.
If the elevator had a track scale they should have been able to get a
WWIB weight agreement and then all was well.

Kurt,
Moving structural steel that was long enough to require a 65' foot car
increased the freight bill by about 25%. Rates were often based on the

Marty's observation calls to mind RW-6, the "paper train" on D&H with
its head end Canadian signature. Tim Gilbert's Suncook Valley
analysis is interesting to me, and informative.

Re: Flat Cars Or Tank Cars?
As I recall it, the cars were never used in interchange service,
running strictly on PE trackage, which would explain the lack of
reporting marks.
