The CB&Q had Caswells, and it looks like some Canadian cars were built to a similar design if not under the Caswell patent.

Even in the Chicago area the most commonly seen PRR cars
were those cast steel flats. They may have looked terrible
but they were in service and the steel mills had no problems
loading

Yesterday I mentioned the CB&Q SM19 series "Z" bracing.
They did specify Cor-Ten Steel. Basic design was used to
build cars from the late 30's until the early 60's.
