This sounds great. How about an article with photos in one of the
modeling magazines?

paints was weak on weathering wood side

Ed, that remark you made about '... Micromark sells preweathered scribed sheets...' intrigues me. Right now I have no Internet access to explore the Micromark site. I'll get to my local library and

Re: MP 10-6 IH 40 ft Boxcar model?
Kurt,
Your statement above is not correct. MP's 40' AAR box cars built
1955-1959 all had 8' door openings. MoPac's 40' AAR box cars built
1950-1954 all had 6' door openings.
MoPac had no 40' AAR

Are NG couplers the same size as Sandard Gauge?
I'm modeling a (mythical but plausible) NG line circa 1940. Would the couplers have been identical to standard gauge ones?
TIA

Kurt,
The 19000-19999 series cars were built late 1952 to early 1953. I-GN
was assigned 19000-19499 and StLB&M got 19500-19999. All cars were
built by MP at their DeSoto, Mo. shops.

I know Sunshine made a mini-kit that served as a door prize at Naperville a few years ago. If I recall, it was for a IGN 10-6 car, and included the parts needed to modify an InterMountain 10-6

Tim's right. You should be aware that there are two varieties of color pencils. Prismacolor
pencils are the Cadillac of pencils, IMHO, and work extremely well on moderately abrasive surfaces,
