How do you plan to build the car? I built a SLSF one from Tichy sides
and ends with a scratchbuilt roof but the RI one is taller and even
though I could make modified ends, don't know what to do for

Rob,
Not all the makeup's have glitter in them. Try asking the Cosmetic consultant if she can recommend a matt finish powder or blusher suitable for your freight cars.

You are right about TCLX, IOX, and CSGX. I don't know about COBX--
yours is a good guess. SUPX stood for Supertest. BMMX was suposedly
for Imperial Oil's (Esso) tar products. Which leaves

I did try some of these years ago and although they appear to be good for earthtones they have some mica or glittery elements mixed into them.

The Texas and Louisiana Lines went under the MP road marks in 1956 so I
don't know where this car has been hiding. My quess is the MoW (MPX)
stenciling wore off over the years.

Don't have any available of either the tool or the results but if you
are unfamiliar with that type dye, it looks like a collet for a
Dremel but with 3 jaws and a ring around the tapered portion.
