Thanks, Chris, and I look forward to seeing that. I would also love to see
everyone else's versions of how to do highly weathered cars. It is such a
gratifying and fun sub-hobby.

Take a look at the Westerfield web sight and Mainline Modeler's article and drawing for the trussrod GN boxcar in the October, 1991 by Pat O'Boyle.

Yes, MT offers their doors separately, although only 6' and 8' versions. Any
authorized MT dealer or online shop can get these for you. Intermountain doors
from their 10'6" kits may also fit, but

SOuthern wood rack ?
Hi
In 1940 SOuthern started converting some of their older SU 36' Boxcars
to wood racks. Would anyone happen to know the color of these wood
racks?
Thanks in advance

Re: N Scale boxcars -
Guess I wasn't specific enough - for purposes of this clinic, just 40'
PS-1's.
But... the info re: MicroTrains is good - I couldn't tell from the
description whether the "standard" boxcar was a PS-1.

ACF Riveted Roof (was C&EI 65000-65499)
John,
It's distinctively different from either the Murphy raised panel roof
or diagonal panel roof. It's difficult to describe in words, but there
are two parallel raised corrugations (crosswise)

Hi Clark,

(I *think* ... failing that, google "RPI Railroad Club")
For access one needs to join/pay, but it's about $5/month which IMHO
is cheap for the amount of info
