I'm looking for information about the 1945 "as delivered" appearance of these cars. I'm assuming they were deliverd with white lettering. I've only seen two photos and they are both in service and

Guys -
Before this topic fades away, I wanted to point out a small error in
the MM plans and the PSC "O" scale model. The 1943 CBC does have the
correct general elevation and cross sectional

GN frt cars in interchange
Dear Listers,
I'm overhelmed by the response from 27 listers on this subject. Lots
of very good info that should be a good basis for the clinic.
Unfortunately work will be delayed by the break down

I've updated my Work in Progress and Maintenance of Way pages. Even
though I am modeling 1959, my updated equipment models were built

Re: PRR X-31A Truck and Underframe Color Question
Fair enough, Bruce. I like your thinking on this one. It gives me
rationale for several of my cars that have FCC on the trucks. :)
Best,
Lawrence Rast

Re: PRR X-31A Truck and Underframe Color Question
Tony;
I personally have zero PRR cars with painted trucks; probably none for any
other railroad, either.
Painted trucks on the PRR, at least in my timeframe, were something I don't
remember

Guys;
I have seen pics of cars painted or repainted prior to the mid 50's that
definitely had the trucks painted FCC, even tho' it is not called for in the
instructions. Ooops.

There have been several discussions both pro and con on other lists
