Railroad History
An absolute favorite of mine is the Pacific Coast Railway by Ken Westcott and
Kurt Johnson. A perfect book for someone wishing to model a specific railroad,
maps, drawings, plans, rosters and a lot

One of the top books on my list is David Leider's "The Wisconsin Central in Illinois". It is mostly pre-1900 in scope.
Even if you are not a Soo Line fan, it covers a huge amount of Chicago railroad

A discussion on another list got me thinking. What are the best steam era railroad history books? Having just picked up the new edition of the Raton Pass book I think that is one of the best I have

This car could have had a lot finer detail. I find the rivets especially oversize.
But C-D-S set HO-1 will letter this car nicely and accurately as built in

Andy is right that all the SP cars with wide seams were built in

Interesting comments about the boxcars and the door on the near car. I take it Andy that when you say that the door dates the construction to 1946, that means 1946 or later? Or were those doors in

Re: InterMountain 1959 Cubic Foot Covered Hopper roofs
Yes, they are and they make two types. I substituted the seam cap version they use on their ATSF car to do my MP one. I did have to make modifications to the hatches because they only do one version.
