Poling pocket placement- tank cars
I've found no documentation (yet) but that placement seems to make good "safety" sense.

Klasing 1150 hand brake
The Klasing 1150 seen in the photo of the Moloco Klasing hand brakes had an enclosed gear and pinion. It was intended mainly for gondolas and hoppers in an effort to keep the "workin's" of the hand

Do you have info (especially diagrams or advertisements) on the Klasing lever hand brakes. They show up on Pere Marquette cars with vertical shafts from the 1920s.

Notice that C&O XM 22249 has an Ajax hand brake but a "plain Jane" hand wheel. I haven't been able to pin down exactly when Ajax changed from their distinctive hand wheel to the same two hand wheels

Klasing was sold to New York Air Brake. All production facilities and recent records have been removed from Joliet.

interesting poling pocket
It's a steam-era car in post-steam-era but what caught my eye is the
location of the poling pockets -- at the bolsters! I know that's how
GATC tank cars were built, but I've never seen it on an ACF
