Cascade Models was to heve been the importer of the models but rejected them for the 2 reasons you mentioned. They out weigh my Westerfield and Funaro versions of these truss rod boxcars by about 3

the 12 panel car originally tooled and released as a Great Northern box car.
Both GN and SP utilized 8-rung ladders
