Re: RPM-East wrap up
Lots of cool models thanks for sharing. I really liked Jim Dalbergs's Lackawanna TOFC with the canvas roof. Might have to steal that idea!

Richard, thanks!
To add data points, the 1955 Illinois Central Annual Report has a
color photo of a whole string of white A.E. Staley tank cars in Decatur

The RPM-East 2011 event wrapped up a couple of weekends ago. There are two Internet sites that feature images and video taken at the event. A number of the display room models were digitally captured

Re: A.E. Staley tank car paint schemes
I have photos of Type 27s with both black and aluminum tanks leased
by SHPX to Staley in the '30s and '40s, so the IM cars are definitely
authentic, though I don't know how long those leases

A.E. Staley tank car paint schemes
I have two Intermountain Type 27 tank car paint schemes - black car,
and a silver car. And I have a Proto2000 Type 21 paint scheme - orange.
I'm pretty sure there were orange cars, and WHITE cars in

Gentlemen,
I'm having a lot of fun rebuilding an Intermountain car this week with all the
brass and metal parts, etc., but I looked close at my prototype photo and found
that I goofed up. Turns

Re: Walthers 30' wood caboose with offset cupola
I ordered my various Walthers UP CA1's February 25th of 2005. And I received them not a whole lot later than that. Check out 932-7541, 2, 3 on the Walthers site.

Hi Greg, I've been mulling this over, because I know I have seen the Western logo in print somewhere. There have been brochures and/or old magazine ads from Austin-Western for sale on eBay

Re: Baltimore and Ohio hopper cars...
You can look at the trucks and see if the are marked B&O or C&O. Their twin hops got mixed up during the joint operating era. C&O was buying deadlined B&O hopper cars from the B&O and rebuilding

Dear Steve...
The B&O hopper located in North Conway IS an ex B&O hopper! In the 80's the Maine Central had MANY 2-bay hoppers where you could see the B&O lettering showing through the MEC

Re: Auto Haulers
Excuse me but I was pointing out the freight cars in the background. Year of fords sounds great but those cars(various) look better, wish we could get a better view of the rolling stock.

Re: Intermountain SP T&NO B-50-26 roof
I have two of Ted's kits and along with the correct roofs (which were
extra) there are additional doors which have the wide seem.
Am I missing something with the doors?

I've posted some additional zoomed in shots of specific cars that appear in the yard photo I posted last week with the hope that some may be able to assist a little more with identification.

Walthers produced a CA-1 a number of years ago. I don't recall
exactly when it came out.
