Re: NKP 1944 AAR Boxcar - C&BT Upgrade #3
Bob looks good. Only one small issue is the cars have 8 rung ladders not 9.
You picked a good number too. 5000-5249 had superior doors. 5250-5499 had Youngstown.

Re: Ore car help
Yes Mel,
John White's American Railroad Freight Car has an excellent detailed plan of this car on pp354-355.
It's reproduced from Engineering News of April 19, 1890 (so a bit outside the time frame

"With a bit of trepidation. . ." Bob, glad to see you are not cowed by comments from some who have never shared photos of their modeling thus conveintly avoiding scrutiny. I like your weathering

Re: UP stock car decals
Actually, if you convert the color of these to a yellow, you can use them on just about any UPRR freight cars. I made them up in three sizes to best fit the scale. In HO they work out to roughly 2",

Here's a master I made for UP stock cars, because the Microscale set is (or was - they may have added it) missing the end markings -- or was it thew Athearn decorated cars -- its been so long I forgot

Re: Rutland House Car Color
There's no reason for anyone to think that Rutand stock cars were painted in a color different
from the boxcars, Bill, so the Iron Oxide should stand you in good stead. Hope to see the
finished car

Bob
Great job on the CB&T car. I have a ton of these cars to do. You have given me some inspiration to get one of these cars out and up grade it as well.

NKP 1944 AAR Boxcar - C&BT Upgrade #3
With a bit of trepidation, here's another upgrade to a rivet-starved C&BT carbody from deep in the unbuilt kit stash -- this one the 7-foot door variation, detailed for NKP.

Re: Rutland House Car Color
Thank you Al for bringing the discussion back to the topic. I have no reason to believe Rutland stock cars were painted any differently than their boxcars—Oxide Red it will be.

I start with .010 brass with and flatten whatever length I visualize I need to form the handle with Chain Nose Pliers little bit by little bit. Then I use Needle Nose Pliers to further try to flatten

Brokers dress well to this day.
Chicken attendants looked like hobos after a three day bender, and oftentimes were.

Re: Rutland House Car Color
Going back to Bill's original question, Jordan, "Rutland in Color", has photos of R 8118 (p 39), 8283, 8060 (both p 78). 8033, 7999 (both p 102). All look oxide red; but they're all box cars. I don't

Great work as usual Bill. How do you make the handle in the middle of the door? I need 4 of them for every IC caboose I own. I tried bending phosphate bronze wire but I can't make it look
