I was scrolling through the photos and saw this message string never got a solid reply. I'm pretty sure this is not Wilmington Jct., it is Lowell Jct....Liquid Carbonic (today Praxair-Linde) was/is

Re: Erie Gondola with Slope Sheets
I was quite surprised to see the MEC car in this photo. My understanding is that a lot of the coal got to Maine via ship and was distributed in MEC’s fleet of 200 hoppers. There must be a story that

Tim O'Connor asked:
"How about bulkheads for submarine construction? General Dynamics in New London CT. Any other sub builders out there?"
Let's call New London by it's traditional name - Electric

You might want to try a rotary circle cutter, which is used by textile artists. Olfa makes one, so does Fiskars. Has anyone on this list used such a product?

Bill:
I use Railbase Professional by ShipIt. There is a ton of information you can enter. It takes info on the kit, the prototype, and photographs. I use it to provide reports in Acrobat.

Re: Erie Gondola with Slope Sheets
Ken,
You are correct. That does appear to be an MEC herald. Something of a surprise, but they needed Pennsylvania coal in Maine in those days I guess.
I confused this photo with one of L&WV freight

Sub bulkheads for 585 up through 688 classes would've been 33 feet in diameter and even larger with the newer ones. They would've been fabricated in the building yards along with the frames. See

Ken,
On behalf of all of us who operate mail order businesses, thanks for understanding.
USPS is in the weeds, like never before. It will recover, the question is when.
