ATSF Boxcar 274525 gets galvanized running boards
After I repainted the roof and running boards black on ATSF Boxcar 274525, class Bx-48, I obtained more information stating the steel running boards for this car were galvanized and left unpainted.

I can attest to the Westerfield ladders -- as a MoPac modeler, I'm now on my second order of them.

Thanks for the tip on the Westerfield wider ladders - will have to check them out.

I am curious if anyone knows of photos of a Bucyrus crane loaded on a flat car? There is a very nice kit available. Thank you.

Re: ATSF Boxcar 274525 Roof Repaint
Bill,
It depends, maybe, maybe not. If your car is in original paint, metal running boards should be galvanized. If they represent a repaint, it should match the roof, non-skid black prior to 51,

Years ago I took a pair of "Kitbits" Dalman two-levels, and added styrene strips as journal-box retainers … I think they're on my first Seaboard B-5. Was Andy's method anything like that?
