Scratch that answer….my answer applies to double doors and very wide singles, not offset doors per se. Some single door cars had offset doors as well, likely to accommodate threading long

I'm reasonably confident that Ben meant tungsten (1.7x the density of lead) rather than titanium.

Is the Dremel type of cut off disc "The good ones" still available?
I had a large number of Dremel type of cut off discs which survived much better than the Dremel house brand. I am now all used up and no hobby store I have been to has had the replacements.

I always try to ballast my track(yard, industrial trackage, sidings) like the dirt shown in this fascinating photo. It makes my (mediocre-compared to cars on this site!) look much better. The junk

I recently completed an F&C Rutland flat which I filled the area within the center sill with sheet lead. With metal trucks it tracks well.

Charlie I use sheet lead cut into pieces that will fit underneath the body. Then use contact cement to attach them. I put the cement on both pieces and let them dry completely before pressing the

Attached is a photo of one way to add weight to a flat car. In this case I used lead shot on my F34 kitbash model. I have monthly operating sessions. I run it empty and it operates
