Ted Schnepf of Rails Unlimited offers the Wabash car in O scale resin. You might contact him and see if his decal source can downscale and print you a set in HO.

That second photo would seem to rule out a mailbox or newspaper box for the nearby house. There is a sign with post (probably the warning sign for the crossing) much closer to the house.
