MP and, I think, Santa Fe stenciled theirs on the inside wall, about head height, usually left of the door opening on each side. This might have been in addition to the door.

Southern 39862 kept its Evans Auto Loaders until 1955.
The Stenciling drawing for 39000-39932 included operating instructions for the loaders on the inside walls. Anyone modeling these cars needs

Lots of roads. It helped getting the door back if it separated from the car in a derailment, of if an overzealous unloading crew tore it off the car.
