Re: Making Dents & Bulges in Plastic Cars - Techniques?
I could not recall this chap’s name, but his models were impressive. I saw them at a Chicagoland RPM event years ago. In addition to dented gons he had a flat car load of a rumpled-up covered hopper

Thanks, Bill. I have Sandifer’s book, and other stock cars had transverse air reservoirs, so I surmised that the Sk-O would also have them. Different roads handled KC to AB brake system conversions

ATSF Sk-O Stock Car Air Reservoir Position
I’m building the Westerfield Sk-O kit with AB brakes, and I’d like to know if the air reservoir was mounted in line or transversely. I can’t tell for sure from the right side photo of ATSF

Yes.
I found 2 photos of the cars you asked about - 14781 & 14001 - with black diamonds on a lighter colored (freight car red?) background.

The ends of the cars in the photo's of the 27001 series are rather unique. Did these cars also use the standard USRA end?

Steve, those are probably the 'return to' stenciling. They would be at the extreme left of the car side, butted up against the end of the car above the grabs. That was the MoPac standard location
