Re: Atlas Slab-Side Covered Hoppers
I took photos of them on the MILW between Owatonna and Faribault, MN in the 70’s. Well outside this list’s era, however.
Thanks!

Re: Broadway Limited 6, 000 Gallon Tank Cars/ Walthers newly-announced tank cars - same prototype?
There are photos of the new Walthers car here (thanks to a member of ARF):

The car does look suspiciously

Not so much in the STMFC era. Definitely, afterwards.

Re: Atlas Slab-Side Covered Hoppers
What the... ? Are these the same tooling as the "True Line Trains" or did Atlas do these from scratch?

Does anyone know if this CN hopper would have seen service in the US? And if so, where?

Re: Atlas Slab-Side Covered Hoppers
The upper (TH&B car) definitely not. The base lettering is likely correct (I'd have to defer to TH&B experts though), but the presence of lube plate, U-1 wheel stencil and the 1967 Confederation logo

Atlas Slab-Side Covered Hoppers
I'm thinking of pre-ordering a couple of these. Unfortunately Atlas hasn't told us what paint scheme is appropriate for the 1950s. I think these two might be correct. Does anyone know for

Chris,
As Brian notes, no photos. Frankly, I doubt that a physical plastic shot from the new mold even exits at this time. Walthers has been bumping up their sales releases until they are occurring

The C&O Historical Society Mainline Modeler compilation is also available as a download, if your computer, like mine, no longer has a CD/DVD drive.

For my two cents, it certainly appears that Walthers has created what is now a third tank body for its generic underframe. They also refer to their 3 compartment car as 36'.

No pics. Just artwork so far with a Mix of ACF and GATC lettering details. I suspect like most recent Walthers steam era rolling stock these will be poorly done but waiting to see.

Attached are the pages out of the Walthers New Product announcement just to ensure we are all on the same page. Bruce, can you please post a link or two to photos of the new Walthers cars? I Googled
