Hi Mike, if that MoPac car has two eight-foot doors, you can get them from Chad Boas at chadboas@.... If it has one eight-foot and one seven-foot doors, you can get the seven foot door from Southwest

Scott Haycock said "Will these eventually be available as kits?"
We just announced and released (on the same day) a production of our General American (GATC) 8,000 gallon, 1917-design tank cars. And

There’s a lot of discussion on this topic in the Carr UTLX history book. Prior to the breakup of Standard Oil, Union Tank Line was not required to make a profit, just to provide good service to all

Re: Tank Car Question
Todd,
I'm aware of what Carbide did in the valley, being the grandson of a Carbider and having grown up there. And you're correct, the overwhelming majority of loads in and out of the Carbide

Yes id say its not a consumer food good, more than likely the Milk Co. sent their own truck to pick up something.

Thank you guys a lot! Now I'll never unsee them!
I have noticed this in photos before and *assumed* they were from ladder use and this verifies it.

Tim O'Connor just posted a photo here: https://realstmfc.groups.io/g/main/message/196117 Keep in mind this is a Mexican car, and there is likely much more traffic on those ladders south of the border

Rob,
You can see scuffing above the grab irons on this metal end of a Southern SU box car.

Re: Tank Car Question
You make a good point, Todd. Lots of modelers seem to think a tank car is a tank car, and you will see chlorine cars sent to bulk oil dealers, and oil company TM tank cars sent to the chlorine plant.

Andy,
The duPont and [Union] Carbide plants in and around the Charleston WV area were big chemical plants. Carbide certainly had a lot of tank cars, but most were for chemical commodities, not

Toe scuff weathering
Hello all,
Recently there has been talk of toe scuff detail weathering for boxcars. Just curious if anyone could share a picture of this.
Thanks,
Rob
