Re: Eastern Car Works Depressed Center Flat instructions
I see you got the instructions yesterday. Here is a scan of an article on building the car from RMC in 1998. It has some prototype photos that should prove useful as well.

Re: PRR Boxcar 498713
Bob,
I found a photo of a revenue service car with this modification circa 1954, so no, these were clearly a steam era modification. I don't see many photos and all are post WWII.

Bruce

Re: PRR Boxcar 498713
Bruce,
Are these former X28 or X29?
Did you or anyone else notice the re-enforcement of the end sill with what looks like a "L" member with triangular brackets just above the draft gear? I don't

Bob,
Time for you to learn your tank car spotting features ;) Basic General American tank car... we've seen 100's of example on this list. As Al says, the underframe, with it's lack of side sills

Mm ... looks like a General American underframe? (Guessing from the lack of side and end sills, also the tank support looks like theirs.)

Scott - the site is NOT ECW! ECW being out of business has nothing to do with the access issues. It is a site that shows lots of instructions. The links that Ben posted don't work because they want
