Thanks guys. Looks like I lucked up re the date. Also I measured what would be the IH and it's 8' 8" on the model. I think there was a Sunshine model of the mather boxcars that was taller.

I recently bought a P2K Mather 40' boxcar. Car Number MWR 1272. Weigh Date is Mather at Chicago Ridge 9-48. My 1950 Westerfied OER shows the car but the 1959 Westerfield OER shows all steel 40'
