Tony,
The 1-1-53 ORER shows the same series, 180000 - 182346, with 2261 cars. The IH shows as 9'-4" and the capacity is listed as 3466 CU FT compared to 3463 as stencilled on this car. My best

Re: Paint color for inside model stock cars
I suspect that everyone who has responded to this question is correct in their own way. I believe that most, if not all, stock cars found their interiors painted in the same color as their outsides

Richard,
La Belle offers a two-for kit that builds two slightly different cars. Ulrich used to make one, but it hasn't been produced in many years. I recently saw a mint kit

Steve Sandifer can say more, but my understanding is that lime was a stopgap. Steam was more effective and essentially standard.

FWIW, I am led to believe the stock cars were disinfected with lime between runs and so typical stock cars typically had white residue inside that sometimes bled outside.

Re: Paint color for inside model stock cars
The oxide color suggests that it was painted when new, but never repainted. The paint loss over time is apparently from repeated steam cleaning until the majority of the slats are bare weathered wood.
