I have used paint marked or “pens” for doing fussy stripes. Generally I use the side of the tip as that seems to do a much better job.

Could you do it by removing paint instead? That is, paint the whole thing silver, then paint the whole thing the body color, then remove the paint along the top surfaces with an eraser, or

Automotive paint stores have a pinstrip painting bottle. A variety of wheel widths are available. The bottle has a needle valve to control paint flow.
