Merritt Island is under evacuation orders.
My sister has a house south of Melbourne, which is just below CocoaBeach.
Also under mandatory evacuation orders.

Hi Bill,
FWIW, Mike Brock informed me that he and his wife have evacuated to a hotel in Orlando. As I recall, it is their custom to do so whenever a hurricane threatens.

Ne’er a better story teller than a railroader.
There are a few good ones, including the ones in TonyThompson’s PFE book. Historicalsocieties often have good ones too.

Hurricane Matthew/East of Florida/Mike Brock/Sheraton Employees
It looks like east coast of Florida may get hit hard by Hurricane Matthew. I am sure I am not alone in hoping the best for everyone in the target zone.

Re: PRR X28 Handbrakes
Indeed, the PRR Color Guide Volume 3, page 50, has a 1961 photo of a
recently repainted X28A in Shadow Keystone paint - and it has a vertical
shaft hand brake! Amazing.
The N&W BPa's (like X28A)
