They were all stenciled return empty to Buffalo. But so what? Under AAR rules they would
be treated like other XM box cars. There's nothing in the ORER that indicates the cars

Colin,
I bought Tichy flatcar decals months ago. I was planning on using those. I personally haven't got around to using any Tichy decals yet but I've read that they're thick? I don't think that'll

Sorry to sound so narrow. I try to research and model known loads between certain shippers and consignees, in likely cars. You were asking about specific Canada-bound boxcars and I framed examples

Re: Buffalo Creek boxes to Canada?
Pardon my ignorance on the matter, but why are those specific states highlighted? I was under the impression that any interchange XM car in the continental U.S could be loaded and shipped anywhere.

Except many were stenciled for flour service only and return to Buffalo. We’re they used for other cargo’s, yes. Car service rule zero, protect the shipper.
Also, what’s forgotten is these cars

Re: Refrigerator Car Return Instruction 1955
I have a document from the Colorado & Southern (CB&Q subsidiary) instructing agents to use reefers for LCL if the travel was in the direction of the reefer's home.

Re: New Kit Release from National Scale Car B&O M55's
What the ??
The IMWX and Red Caboose 1937 AAR box car are the SAME MODEL.
The DPH cars with Viking roofs are certainly IMWX models and the roofs fit perfectly.
Intermountain's "1937 AAR" carbody

Re: Catalytic refining: was UTLX 10,000 gallon X-3 tankcar
Part of the reason may be that catalysts were discovered in fossil beds in the northeastern
US including New Jersey. I learned about that years ago reading one of John McPhee's books
on geology.

Re: Refrigerator Car Return Instruction 1955
I can’t speak to 1955, but in the 40s and early 50s ATSF used SFRD reefers commonly for LCL service. The largest percentage of LCL traffic was from east to west and was clean, dry, and usually came

Re: Soo Line 76144
Very nice cars. I particularly like the SOO car.
Can you describe where you apply the Pan Pastels? I am concerned that when I use it, so of my effort to match the prototype body colour is compromised

When the harvest season changed, FGE and WFE mtys were gathered at various locations and run as entire trains W to E or vice-versa. I assume (do not “know”) the routes used may have been FGE/WFE
